The Story
When Rosie first got in touch about Fifty Five Port Stephens, the existing website was already doing one important job well: bringing people in through Google. The problem was that once they landed there, the experience didn’t quite match the beautiful beachfront accommodation waiting for them in Port Stephens. There was plenty of valuable content and established SEO to work with, but Rosie described the site as clunky, busy and lacking the soul that makes Fifty Five so special. For the new Signature Squarespace Website, the goal was to keep those hard-earned foundations while creating a much more visual, inviting way to experience the property online.
The new site was completely restructured around the way guests actually discover and book Fifty Five. Family and couples stays now have their own pathways, while weddings and elopements, retreats, photoshoots and other gatherings are easier to understand and enquire about.
Large galleries, video, handwritten guest reviews and clearer booking prompts help the property do far more of the talking, while the old local-area content became a genuinely useful Port Stephens guide filled with Rosie’s own recommendations and local knowledge. The result feels far closer to arriving at Fifty Five itself: personal, relaxed, full of character and very connected to its place on Sunrise Beach.
Behind the visuals, this was also a careful migration from WordPress to Squarespace, preserving valuable SEO content and existing search visibility while improving the site structure, page SEO, Google Analytics and Search Console setup. Rosie’s response to the first draft summed up exactly what we were aiming for: “It flows, it keeps you engaged” and feels “beautiful but functional.” A very happy ending for a website that now has the substance to be found and the personality to make someone want to stay.
